BEATRICE BERG

My artistic work is influenced by my training as an architect and my German origins. I am attracted to bright spaces, simple and refined shapes, to everything that is sober, subtle and pure and that has finesse. Art represents for me a way of concentration - a concentration on the essential - a kind of purification of spirit. Everything superfluous disappears - sometimes only a line remains ... The basis of my works are minimalist photographs. But when we look closer, we discover a subtle interplay of light and shadow underlined by the addition of acrylic paint and gold leaf. I thus combine digital work and manual interventions and create a symbiosis between photography, digital art and classical techniques.
