Karine Andrillon dit Mam Kaan graveuse tourangelle

MAM KAAN

Self-taught artist, I am a lover of paper that I like to handle: old newspapers from which I draw inspiration or words, papers on which I paint, draw, ink or create patterns before integrating them into a larger whole. I like the mix of materials.

I mainly produce "quirky" portraits, with characters sometimes melancholy or dreamy, sometimes funny, assertive or exuberant, always with the intention of arousing an emotion.

I try to create a poetic universe populated by strong characters...which I complete with drypoint engravings. The rendering of this technique adds a very sensitive retro and outdated aspect which is perfectly suited to my small formats, to what I seek to release as emotion while offering low prices for unique works.
